Do you remember that scene near the end of Field of Dreams? Terrence Mann (James Earl Jones) is telling Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) that folks will come, not even knowing why they come or what they are seeking.
You are in that place.
You have a computer, time on your hands and an emptiness you can neither fathom nor describe. You cannot be the only one who’s ever felt this way, or who feels this way now.
What are you going to do with the rest of your life?
What if this emptiness is all that there is?
You may have hobbies, forgotten dreams or thoughts and ideas you want to pursue. Go on, grab for the golden ring – it’s out there. Our reach must always exceed our grasp, or what’s a Heaven for?
Maybe you’re like me, you see your 60’s looming, your finances not where you’d hoped they’d be (or not as healthy as you’d wish they were). What can you do? You’re not one of the career people who’ve got a tidy 401K. Maybe you’ve been working, but only as a “job”. Perhaps you’re a woman who stopped working when the children came. Are you a paycheck away from homelessness? If your spouse passed, would you be dependent on your children?
Whatever your situation may be, you’ll find kindred spirits here. You can connect with people all over the world, or just around the corner. You can learn to “tweet” as others do on Twitter, and join friends on Facebook, too. What if you wrote a blog? How about an Etsy store?
Dave Thielen asks, “What if you dared to do something amazing with your life”?
Well, what are you waiting for?
