I don’t know how many of you are papercrafters, but Nikki Sivils, scrapbooker is having a drive to collect supplies for the folks in Joplin, MO. She has gotten several folks in the industry on board, and it is going full steam ahead!
I cannot explain why I am so drawn to this, but I am. it was like a kick in the gut from God (maybe?), reminding me that I have a huge stash of scrapbook paper that I will never use, and some folks lost everything. I know that you cannot compare losing your paper stash to losing your house, but I was thinking of it being summer. Hopefully a summer of rebuilding, with maybe time for kids to play, too.
This doesn’t equal FEMA, or the Red Cross, but it is the little things, the hints at returning to “normal”. If you have a roof over your head and food, and your family is OK, then maybe taking the time to document what happened and how you are ‘fighting back’ by rebuilding will be an emotional support in a difficult time.
