It is time once again for my favorite month of the year, the Art month. Of course, it is also my birthday month!!
Leah Piken Kolidas runs Art Every Day Month (or AEDM as we fondly call it). It is based on the idea that everyone should do something creative every day in November, which will help form the habit of daily creativity. Here’s the direct link to the check-in post: http://creativeeveryday.com/creativeeveryday/2011/11/art-every-day-month-check-in-day-1.html.
NaNoJouMo is the brainchild of Dawn Devries Sokol. It stands for National Nonstop Journaling Month, as she explains in this quote:
“Each day during November, I will post a word to get you art journaling. A journal jump of sorts—one word a day to inspire or get you thinking. The goal is to journal SOMETHING in your art journal. DOESN’T HAVE TO BE A FULL PAGE…can be a doodle, maybe painting some backgrounds, doing some collage…just SOMETHING every day in your art journal during November. Even if it’s just moving a pencil across the page in a crooked line…” Here’s her direct link: http://www.dblogala.com/nanojoumo.
National Blog Posting Month, or NaBloPoMo, aims to encourage daily blog posting. Now it’s also connected to BlogHer! The theme for this month is Blogging for Blogging’s Sake, and they are offering daily writing prompts. Here’s their link: http://www.blogher.com/nablopomo-november-2011-blogroll. They will be taking sign-ups till November 5, so get on over. They will be offering prizes, too!
And, lest you think a day can go by without them, there is Tammy Garcia’s Index-Card-A-Day project, still going strong after 5 months!! She also offers a set of weekly prompts. You can find her here: http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/icad/. Her main blog post today is about AEDM.
The art I have made today is basic – I’ve been prepping backgrounds and pondering my dirty birds.
