Dawn Sokol has declared 2012 to be the Year of the Art Journal. To emphasize this and spread good cheer, she has chosen to label February NaNoJouMo, in addition to the one she does in November! Use the button in my sidebar to find out more!!
Here are my entries for the first 2 days:
On Tuesday afternoon I heard a cat crying. I went into the hall, but couldn’t see one. Thinking I was just hearing one that was in someone else’s apartment, I went back into my apartment. Shortly, I could hear it again, quite loudly. I went into the hall, and found a young cat cowering in my next door neighbors’ doorway. DD24 and I checked with the neighbors – she didn’t belong to them.
I brought her inside. She was shaking like a leaf, poor scared thing, and clung to me for dear life. She freaked out, seeing our cats (and the grandpewpie). We put her in a carrier overnight.
The next day, she ate a bit, drank a little and found the litter box. One of the upstairs folks is a vet, so she took a quick look at her, to determine if she’s blind. She’s not; her eyes are dilated from fear. OK.
Although she is skinny, her fur is sleek, and her pads are not calloused. She spent most of yesterday on my chair in the kitchen. When I would come out, she rise up and rub against me, and let me pet her. Just me.
To anyone else, she hisses, scratches, and bites. She will do the same to me, if other pets are in the room. DD24 says that she is unadoptable, and plans to take her to the shelter.
I am not OK with it. 4 of the pets currently with us, are hers. I think I might be OK if we could get her to be less scared, so she would have a chance to be adopted. I just think of how scary the shelter would be for her, surrounded by strange animals, in an open cage, no one talking to her or loving on her. I just cannot do it.
Please, those of you who pray, please pray that we will know what to do.
Why do these animals find us?? I pray everything works out for the best for the kitty.
I hope everything works out for her. I think you are right & she just needs a little time to feel safe & calm down.
